The Mobile Web

I've spent the last few days exploring mobile connectivity, the mobile web and mobile enhanced social networks. It seems that in the last few years and really maybe in the last year, being able to do just about anything on a phone has become essencial. You don't want to be tied down to a single location and you want to allow people to communicate with their friends and family at their own convinience. Forcing people to sit down in front of a computer or even requiring tem to do anything more than press a couple of buttons to communicate seems like to much to ask. I'm currently writing this on a blackberry.

One other thing I've noticed is that, becasue of the necesity for simplicity of form and function on mobile devices, intention trumps a feature list any day.  As a developer you really need to plan your platforms functionaly around the type of interaction you hope to generate from it.  This rule seems to hold true when designing anything.
